MC SIDEKICK debuted at MENACE in May 2005 and has been a resident since, consistently appearing this year at EQ... he is a member of the ROTATION crew, where he regurlarly appears alongside ONE NATION residents SUBTERRA, NETWORK, FD, DIGGA and MASTER X, SUB FOCUS of RAM, IC3, fellow COLLECTIVE originals BAZIL and LEAN, as well as many of the leading names in the scene. He is also involved with the NINE BAR SOUNDSYSTEM.
SIDEKICK holds residencies with MISSION DnB, MOTIVATION and Surrey Uni's PRESHA...he has sporadically appeared on QUALITY BEATS RADIO and LONDON LIVE & DIRECT as a guest of CATCH and SPARKEE ( jungleravers.com ), plus now-deceased pirates STREAMING FM and SWITCH FM ( on which he hosted his own weekly slot ).
SIDEKICK is the promoter of Portsmouth based REDEMPTION ( with DJ's J TEK and BLUEZ ) and the HAVAWORD bbqs - which deliver a range of breaks & beats but with a preference for liquid, old skool jungle, breakbeat and rollin' tekno. He has also performed as a guest at BREAKNECK ( Portsmouth DnB ) accompanying MC GIBBER, NEW NATION and FUSION with MC UV and CONTACT.
His foray into DnB/JUNGLE vocalism began at the tail-end of the 20th century as one half of the hosting-orientated HGV alongside MC THROCKER ( a.k.a RHYTHM LOGISTICS of tekno outfit SECTION63 ) and as a member of the Guilford based COLLECTIVE. He has a preference for the rollin' liguid side of DnB but is partial to MCing to all the genres of DnB/JUNGLE, old skool hardcore, breakz and even tekno on the odd occasion!
Sidekick counts FLUX, CONRAD and GQ amongst his major influences.
Outside favourites include THE cURE, THE PIXIES, IAN DURY, JURASSIC 5 and THE DOORS.
